Mayor Pro Tem / Councilman Ken Weaver


Bio  

Ken Weaver was born in Boise, Idaho in 1943. He attended Boise State University where he received a B.S. Degree with a major in Accounting. The Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) recruited Ken in 1968 as a college trainee. He held various financial executive positions with AAFES throughout the worldwide operation with assignments in the Pacific, United States and Europe. Ken spent most of his career at the Headquarters, AAFES in Dallas. He retired in 1999 from the Chief Financial Officer position, which he had held for 5 years.
Ken and Pat have been married for 42 years and have two adult children and two grandchildren. Ken is a Duncanville City Councilman serving his fourth term and is currently Mayor Pro Tem. Ken is a CPA (retired), and is currently a member of the Methodist Charlton Medical Center Advisory Board. Ken is also a Counselor of the Senior Corp of Retired Executives (SCORE). He is past Chairman of the Duncanville Chamber of Commerce and Past President of the Duncanville Economic Development Corporation Board, a graduate of The Leadership Southwest Program and the local Coordinator of the AARP Tax Aide Program. Ken has been very active with the Rotary Club of Duncanville and is a Club Past President and was Club Rotarian of The Year for 2002. Ken and Pat were recognized for their active volunteering by being selected for the Duncanville Man of the Year and Woman of the Year respectively for 2009. This selection was announced at the Mayor’s 2010 State of the City Presentation in January.
